Tips On Building Your Squeeze Page
9 Things you can do to increase your opt-in rate.
I am assuming that everyone has a understanding of the importance of
building a list. Your list is one aspect of your online business that is not
effected by what happens in the market place. Marketers and suppliers
come and go. Products get discontinued often. Your website gets slapped
by Google or a search engine. Just so many things can happen.
The only thing for sure is your opt-in list of subscribers. They are yours
and yours only. That is why it is so important to build a good relationship
with them. You can continue to market to them on a regular basis.
Just don’t bombard them with offer after offer and not give them useful
content, free reports, or just some gift that helps them solve a problem
they have and helps their business grow.
Build their trust in you and you will be able to market to them for months
to come.
The first step in building your list is of course have something of value to
offer them for their name and email address.
Another important part of building your list is having a good converting
opt-in page or as some call it a squeeze page. When you build your opt-in
page there are some important factors that you should incorporate into
the construction of it to make sure that it converts to subscribers well.
1. The Headline: You only have a few seconds to catch
their attention so create a since of urgency in your headline. Grab their
attention fast.
2. Opt-in Forms: Location of the opt-in form is important,
whether you use one or two forms. If you use one form try to use a graphic
opt-in form (which will increase conversions by a much as 40%) and place it
above what they call the fold of the page. The second for if used can be at
the lower part of the page.
3. Links: By all means do not have any External Links.
Your only objective is get them to subscribe to your list.
4. Information: The more information you ask for in the
opt-in form the less likely they will fill in the form. Only ask for information
that is absolutely necessary. Usually all you need is their name and email
address.
5. Your Information: It is more professional to always
to provide your name and email address at the bottom of your squeeze page.
6. Body of Page: All to often spueeze pages get to long
and confusing. Just keep it short and to the point. Just giving some benefits
of the offer is enough. Remember the acronym K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple Stupid)
7. Privacy Policy: Always let the subscriber that their
information will never be sold of given away and is safe with you. Another
thing is Do Not mention that your hate spam like they do. Test have proven
that this statement can frighten them away.
8. Use Professional Graphics: This is totally up to you
but using professional graphics for the ecover is best. As long as they are
not amateurish looking you should be fine. As the old saying goes “a picture
is worth a thousand words” so it is best to make sure the graphics are nice
looking and captivating which will pay off in the long run.
9. Rinse and Repeat: Folks, Test…Test… and Test Again!
There is always room for improvement So never stop testing different aspect
of your squeeze page. You will see your opt-in rate increase.
That’s it, follow these tips and you will definitely see a increase in the size of
your list.
